1. Fluency Practice Page: Goal to read 110 words or more in one minute. Read it 7 times out loud for speed as parent’s time for one minute each time you read. If you want to read the whole page 7 times… even better.

Spelling List 

1. talk- I talk to Grandma on the phone.
2. cross- Be careful when you cross the street.
3. awful- Gina felt awful about breaking her mother’s favorite lamp.
4. law- Is there a law against letting dogs run loose?
5. cloth- The doll was made of cloth.
6. cost- How much do those skates cost?
7. crawl- That baby can crawl almost as fast as I can walk!
8. chalk- We used colored chalk to draw a hopscotch board on the sidewalk.
9. also- Mark is a great singer, and he also dances very well.
10. raw- Raw vegetables are a healthy snack.
11. salt- Do you like your popcorn plain or with salt?
12. wall- Mom hung a picture on the wall.
13. lawn- My big brother mows the lawn every Saturday morning.
14. always- Adam always asks for pizza.
15. soft- The kitten’s fur is soft.
16. small- Grains of sand are very small.
17. often- It rains quite often in the spring.
18. strawberry- Kim’s favorite fruit is the strawberry.

Spelling: (Parents correct the homework and give them a grade of a 3 as it is completed, spelled correctly, and very nice penmanship. If it is not a 3, please have them redo the work until it is 3 quality.)

1. Monday- Write words 5 times each.
2. Tuesday- Write words in ABC order.
3. Wednesday- Write 10 of the words in sentences. You pick the 10. Can copy the sentence examples above if having a hard time creating their own.
4. Thursday- Parents give a practice test and grade it. What they missed they need to write 10 times and retake the test with parents till mastered.
